| Description | The International Young Men's Christian Association College, now Springfield College, completed construction of its first dormitory in February 1896 at a cost of approximately $41, 000. The four floor structure served a dual purpose as a dormitory and dining room for for students, as well as, the college's Administration building. During World War II, the campus the building was utilized as the administrative office of the Naval Convalescent Hospital. Renovations, prompted by safety concerns, necessitated the removal of the top two floors which and reduced the current Springfield College Administration Building to its present two floor. |
