SubjectYoung Men's Christian Association (Lake Geneva, Wis.)--Buildings--Photographs; Lake Geneva (Wis.); Lewis Auditorium
DescriptionA postcard showing the Lewis Auditorium at the Young Men's Christian Association Camp on Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Lewis Auditorium was demolished in 1999, and the Ferro Pavilion, where the "Music By The Lake" summer music festivals are held each year, was built on the site. The Camp on Lake Geneva was used as an academic training ground for YMCA employees starting in 1884. Later, the summer institutes held at the Camp on Lake Geneva became known as the Western Secretarial Institute. After a merger with the YMCA training school in Chicago, the Lake Geneva site eventually become the site of George Williams College. In 2000, George Williams College merged with Aurora University to become George Williams College of Aurora University.
