DescriptionThe Columbian building was constructed in 1814, on the corner of Elm and Main streets, where later the YMCA (built in 1893) stood for many years. It was moved to the corner of Wardwell court and Foster street in the late 1880-1890s. Stores from left to right are:J. Booth & Co. - Paints and Paperhanging, N. S. Viall Crockery - Glassware, Adams Express Co. and C.T. Carpentier - Harness Maker and Carriage Trimmer. Three young children wait around at the corner and a person is in the C T Carpentier doorway on the stoop.
