DescriptionThe original Summit House on Mount Wachusett in Princeton, Massachusetts. Men sit on chairs on the roof while others gaze out the windows or sit in front. A horse and cart can be seen on the left. The Summit House was built in 1870 by William G. Morse. Morse actually started the summit house in 1866 when it was just a stand at the top of Mount Wachusett that sold candy and cigars that were delivered by pony cart.
